Looking for a place to try new beers and get away from the usual Guinness and the obvious lager brands? Luckily Dublin has an ever growing craft beer scene.
Scattered right across the city centre are various pubs specialising in craft beers or just offering a wide range of them alongside the usual beers on tap.
We’ve picked out some of the ones we think are best, make sure to leave a comment if you think any deserve to be added to the craft beer list.
The Porterhouse – Temple Bar
Bang in the middle of the city in Temple Bar, The Porterhouse is huge and it’s solely home to craft beers, and a very wide range of them too.
The Porterhouse Brewing Company stocks lagers, stouts, IPAs, pale ales, porter – as many different drinks as you’re willing to try.
Aside from the great array of drinks, the Temple Bar location has pub grub, live music and a great atmosphere.
BrewDog – The Docklands, Dublin 2
A world renowned brand offering some of the best craft beers the globe has to offer in Dublin’s docklands, which is a small journey out of the city centre but definitely worth it.
Inside they have a microbrewery, beer schools, plenty of seating and a simple food menu of wings, burgers and even vegan friendly dishes.
IPA’s, Pilsners, pale ales – BrewDog has as wide a variety as you could hope for.
Against the Grain – Wexford Street
Against the Grain is not your average pub for the street it is on, while offering a lovely atmosphere, the quaint pub is the place to go for tasty beers you won’t get anywhere else on the street.
Home to many Galway Brewery creations, it also has a world class range of international craft beers with as many as 10 different choices on tap at any one time.
P Macs – Lower Stephen Street
A much-loved candle-lit pub right in the city centre, a spot perfect for a first-date or catch-up with some friends over pints and some very good pub grub.
Their craft beer menu is one of the best of central Dublin pubs but they also offer favourites like Birra Moretti so if you have a group of not all craft drinkers, this will suit all options.
The Beer Market – High Street, The Liberties
It might not be a pub you’re familiar with, The Beer Market is in The Liberties and for those wandering around town, it’s not a place that would be within range – but we’re telling you it’s worth the few minutes walk.
The Beer Market is a quality old fashioned pub, beautifully designed and offering a great supply of craft beers just a stone’s throw from Christchurch.
It’s a must for craft beer enthusiasts but also worth a visit if you’re looking for a new pub to try with a lovely decor.

Tapped Dublin – Nassau Street
Relatively new to the Dublin pub scene, Tapped on Nassau Street pairs together craft beer and pizza and is becoming hugely popular.
Like most of the spots on our list, Tapped specialises in craft beers from Ireland and abroad but in a much more modern setting than many of the others.
Blackbird – Rathmines
A small trip out of the city centre into Rathmines and you’ll find the Blackbird, a superb pub for craft beers and pizza – it is of course again on our pizza and pint list.
They offer Irish and international craft beers as well as a few more mainstream lagers and Guinness so your non-craft enjoying friend can enjoy it.

Rascals – Inchicore
Out in Inchicore, Rascals really is a must for beer enthusiasts, home to Rascal’s Brewing Company, they craft some of the most unique lagers, IPA’s and more in the city.
Ever tried a rock-shandy beer? Well, this is the place. And of course they pair their quality beers with pizza just as good.
