Just a 35-40 minute drive from Waterford city itself along the route to Cork is the small town of Dungarvan.
With Clonea Beach and being at one end of the superb Waterford Greenway, Dungarvan is a massive destination for domestic and foreign tourists during the summer months.
It’s a fine harbour town and home to some fine pubs – these are two of the best that we think you should try when in the area.
The Anchor Bar – Davitts Quay
Enjoy a pint quay-side on a sunny day outside The Anchor bar along Davitts Quay in their popular outdoor seating area.
The open-plan pub is one of the busier spots in Dungarvan for a night-out and known as a great place to watch some live sport.
They’ve live music sessions multiple nights a week and plenty of snugs in the traditional pub where you can pull up a chair and enjoy a catch-up with friends.

The Local – Grattan Square
A traditional local bar in the middle of the town that’s home to a warm ambience, live music and a huge selection of drinks.
They have more than a dozen drinks on draught, be it the obvious favourites or locally-brewed beers, and plenty of spirits to go along with that.
Best known for their live music in an intimate setting – and you can get soup, sandwiches, teas and coffees if you’re there during the day.
