It’s Dublin’s premier gig venue but around the 3Arena there is actually a scarcity of pubs to head in and have a pint if you’re early or just want a more reasonably priced drink before getting passed the security.
In most cases, we’d recommend you have a few drinks further back the Luas line and then make your way down and into the venue for the show.
But if you’re standing outside the Gibson hotel right now, three hours early and googling this article, then we have a few recommendations that will serve you up a nice drink.

The Bottle Boy Pub – The Mayson Hotel
Depending on what way you make it to the 3Arena, there’s every chance you’ll not even notice this cosy pub but it’s our top choice for a drink before a gig.
Located in The Mayson Hotel which is a five minute walk from the doors of the arena, it’s a lovely traditional bar with the feeling of an old man’s pub.
Head in for a pint or drink of your choice in a unique setting with snugs, a fireplace and even traditional music if you’re lucky.
The Green Room Bar – Behind the Gibson Hotel
Not exactly on most people’s routes to the 3Arena, but The Green Room Bar is just around the back of The Gibson Hotel area, again about a five minute walk max from the venue.
It’s a completely different vibe to the last pub, it’s more of a modern take on a bar and grill with tasty food, good pints and a good selection of cocktails.
Take a seat in their comfy seats and chill in the pleasant atmosphere before you make your way over for your gig – they even have a beer garden!
