When flying out of Dublin Airport’s Terminal One there’s usually there’s two options for a drink and some food – the Marquette bar on the ground floor and The Garden Terrace.
Both of these spots are very much airport bars, the kind you’ll find in the majority of terminals across Europe, and that’s not necessarily a bad thing, they certainly do the job.
But few people know there is a much more traditional feeling boozer in the airport’s Terminal 1 – called The Gate Clock.
If you’re a tourist leaving Dublin after a holiday, this will give you that final feeling of having a pint of Guinness in a proper Irish pub.

But how do you get there? Here’s all you need to know.
Find The Gate Clock – Dublin Airport’s ‘hidden’ pub
First things first, you make your way through airport security in Terminal One, then you’re going to head the way you always do, to the right, passing through the first of the duty free shops including The Loop on your left and Chanel on your right.
You’ll soon come to the signs for gates 101-224 straight ahead and 301-307A above, just before the Irish Memories shop.
Here you are going to take a left to the 301-307A gates and follow the route down, if you don’t pass WH Smith quickly you’re going wrong.
Keep going this way and before you get to the actual gates, on your left you’ll be greeted by The Gate Clock, Dublin Airport’s hidden pub.
The old style pub has barrels on the outside and wooden tables and stools inside, it serves all the drinks the other spots do but with a more traditional feel to it.
It’s also, generally speaking, a lot quieter than the other spots so could be perfect for your night pre-flying pint.
Let us know if you head there and what you think of it.
