Every summer the Ballsbridge area is prepared for an influx of fans from all around the country up to see various shows and concerts that come to the leafy Dublin town.
And between locals, match-goers headed for the Aviva most weekends and the constant stream of visitors, Ballsbridge is incredibly well-served by lovely pubs.
You’re sure to be looking for a place to grab a pint before the gigs or have a few afterwards, so we’ve got you covered with some of the best pubs in the area for a drink.
Horse Show House Pub – Merrion Street
Just a quick walk from the RDS itself, The Horse Show House Pub will no doubt be busy over the coming days, but luckily it has plenty of room for the droves of fans passing by.
It’s very popular modern pub that also happens to have a very big beer garden, so if there’s any hint of sun, you would be in the right place here.
Plenty of drinks on tap and a comfortable setting as you wait for doors to open – or gather to discuss Bruce’s performance after the fact.
The Bridge 1859 – Ballsbridge Terrace
This cosy pub, also extremely close to the RDS, is most well-known as a rugby pub, largely down to its star-studded cast of directors which includes the Kearney brothers, Jamie Heaslip, Sean O’Brien and Noel Anderson.
But stars aside, the pub also has a great reputation for being a top place to have a pint – it is a multi-award winning spot with a huge array of pints on tap and lovely food menu.
It has lovely little outdoor area as well as a cool and ultra-modern interior so could be an option before or after the gig.
Paddy Cullen’s and Mary Mac’s – Merrion Road
Again we’re bringing you very close to the RDS with these choices, these side-by side pubs are top watering holes where you can expect a buzzing pre-concert atmosphere.
Inside these huge old-fashioned pubs there’ll be food, tunes and of course drink so you can really get in the mood before heading across the road.
After the concert you can also expect it to be extremely busy so if you’re hoping to stick around Ballsbridge, look no further.
