Not quite fancying a restaurant but looking for a quick bite to eat? A pub is the perfect destination with some of Dublin’s offering great options.
Whether it’s sandwiches or a slap-up meal you’re looking for, we’ve made a list of some of our top picks when it comes to getting grub and a drink or two.
Pubs with just pizza are not being included here, why? Because we have a list for those right here if that’s what you’re looking for.

Doyle’s Bar – College Street
The centrally located Doyle’s Bar, just a stone’s throw from Trinity, has a no frills food menu that is perfect when you’re looking for a quick bite for lunch or dinner.
They have small bites like onion rings and wings, cheese toasties and other sandwiches and then bigger options like fish and chips or a burger and more – with veggie options too.

Doyle’s will not disappoint with the food made to a high quality and it’s not a bad old-fashioned pub to have a few drinks at either.
Considering you’re right in the city centre too, the prices are very reasonable.
The Bleeding Horse – Upper Camden Street
At the top of Camden Street you’ll come across The Bleeding Horse, an extremely popular boozer for locals and tourists and one that has a fine menu of food.
Burgers, nachos, chicken tenders and even a dessert, plus a few small bites, this busy pub has a great selection of food so you won’t be disappointed.

It’s perfectly positioned if you’re heading on a night-out and need some food before but also a place worth visiting if it’s just food your after.
Most mains range from €14 to €20 in price.
The Celt – Talbot Street
Hidden away on Talbot Street is the very traditional Celt pub where they pride theirselves on their food.
The menu is about as Dublin as you can get with Guinness stew, bacon and cabbage, bangers and mash and more local type cuisines.

They also have plenty of side bites like chicken tenders and chips and platters.
Prices here again range between €10 and €20 for the majority of items on the menu.
P Mac’s – Stephen Street Lower (due to close soon)
P Mac’s is a great pub and one that’s usually very busy the closer it gets to the weekend, and it’s no wonder why with their great ambience, top selection of drinks and the lovely bites they have on offer.
It’s a great place whether you’re looking for something substantial to eat or just something to compliment a few drinks you’re looking for, this is a brilliant option.
As well as handing out crisps for free, they’ve a menu that includes chicken wings, loaded nachos and other small bites as well as burgers, fish tacos and a lot more.
Price wise you’re talking €15 to €20 here.
Camden Exchange – Camden Street
Sitting along the ever vibrant Camden Street, the Camden Exchange is home to really, really good burgers.
The only slight issue is that they come at a price, you could pay as much as €23 for a burger and chips, although there are some under the €20 mark.

But are the burgers very nice? Yes. Are they worth the money? That’s up to you.
Nachos, goujons, garlic bread and other small bites are also available here – definitely worth a try if you haven’t been before.
Doheny and Nessbit – Baggot Street
A beautifully traditional pub in the lovely area of Baggot Street, Doheny and Nessbit is well-known for drawing a crowd for its drink, good atmosphere and excellent food menu.
If you’re looking for lunch, they’ve toasties, BLTs, steak sandwiches and everything else of that ilk as well as a full dinner menu and breakfast in the morning.

You’ll pay anywhere between €10 and €20 for most bits but the toasties are a good bit below a tenner if you’re looking for a smaller, cheaper bite with a pint.
The Barge – Charlemont Street
Dublin’s favourite sunny day pub, The Barge is not just for enjoying the good weather, they also have a great all-day food menu.
Their menu really is extremely wide, you can get starters like mussels, chowder and soup, salads, sandwiches and steaks for main courses as well as burgers, pizzas and much more.
It’s a big space too so plenty of room even on a busy day – the prices are average for the area, around €20 for a main course but you can find plenty for closer to the €10 mark.
Sheehans – Chatham Street
A cosy pub just off Grafton Street where you’ll find potentially the most traditional setting and traditional menu on this list.
Fancy a Beef and Guinness pie? A traditional Irish stew? Well that’s the kind of grub you can expect in here – as well as other obvious dishes like fish and chips and the like.
It’s a stunning little pub where you can enjoy a quiet pint with your meal, prices are in or around the €20 mark for the main courses, less for smaller bites of course.

The Ginger Man – Fenian Street
Another very popular pub for both its food and drink, The Ginger Man has plenty to offer with both a lunch and dinner menu.
When it comes to lunch, sandwiches, salads, pies, fish and chips and the like are available and at a very reasonable price – there isn’t an item over €15.

Then on the dinner menu you can grab a lot of the above plus steaks, curry and some sharing options – again it’s all very well priced for a Dublin city pub.
W Plunket – Abbey Street
A contemporary Irish bar serving quality food from midday every day.
Here you’ll find toasties and ciabattas for under €7, burgers for less than €10 and eggs benedict for under the tenner range on their lunch menu.

For the bigger meals you can find steaks, curry, stews and the like all for a bit more money of course.
