One of Dublin’s most unique pubs is The Dawson Lounge, the smallest bar in the city, established in the early 1800s.

It’s easy to walk on by this place in a basement just of Stephen’s Green and, as you might have guessed by the name, at the bottom of Dawson Street.

A colourful green sign sitting atop a small door is the first indication that this is indeed a very small space.

But head on in here if you’re looking an authentic Dublin pub experience where you can get a quality pint of Guinness for a very reasonable price.

Inside the windowless space it’s as dimly-lit and cosy as you’d expect with a classic dark-wooden interior.

There is about space for 40 people although you won’t have too much choice on where to sit as it’s often filled to the brim.

It’s particularly loved by tourists visiting the city with exceptional reviews on Tripadvisor, to give you an idea, on US visitor said: “What a find this was. The smallest pub in Dublin. Well they say good things come in small packages, well this was one of them.

“From the minute we walked in we were made to feel welcome and struck up a conversation with the local almost immediately. The Guinness as always was delicious and a real quirky place to be ending our trip.”

So head on over there if you’re looking for a quirky Irish pub experience.
