Whether you’re walking around City square and the Apple market or driving around the outskirts, you won’t be short of boozers with great lunch and dinner menus.
Here are some of our favourite places for a bite to eat – feel free to leave a comment or let us know if we’re leaving any others out.
Geoff’s, John Street
One of the city’s most-loved pubs and home to a delicious menu whether you’re looking for lunch or dinner.
Sandwiches, salads, traditional dishes, curry, burgers, great chips and many, many more options will greet you once you visit the lively pub – great if you’ve a group of people as they’re sure to have something for everyone.
Not a bad place to stay on and enjoy a few drinks either! Lunch is served from midday every day of the week.

The Reg, The Mall
Down beside Reginald’s Tower, The Reg is a lively pub and restaurant popular with locals and visitors alike.
While it turns into a fully-fledged pub and late bar by night, during the day you can have a few drinks and enjoy some good food from their wide menu with plenty of locally-supplied produce.
They’ve burgers, steaks, chicken wings, salads, locally-sourced fish dishes and plenty of sides and desserts on top of that.
Well worth a visit if you’re peckish and in the area.
The Uluru, Dunmore Road
Another traditional style pub that prides itself on its food, The Uluru has a huge menu and is well-known for its quality.
They have light bites, mains like steaks, curries, burgers, roasts and a pizza menu so you will be spoiled for choice.
The big venue is also a lovely place to enjoy a meal and a few drinks.

The Three Shippes, William Street
Just beside the People’s Park you’ll come across The Three Shippes where they delight locals and visitors with their carvery menu.
Well-priced and perfect for a lunchtime feast, it’s definitely the place to go for a nice, traditional, belly-filling feed.
And it’s not only the carvery option, they’ve burgers, sandwiches and other sides on the menu too.

The Gingerman, Arundel Lane
Nestled in the heart of Waterford City, The Gingerman is a cosy little pub filled with charm, friendly locals and a top menu.
They do roast dinners, handy bites like goujons and chips, specials that includes chicken wraps and even do a fine breakfast.
It’s another place well worth a visit for a few pints too, to help wash down the good food.
