Dublin and the whole of Ireland is getting the summer weather everyone would have dreamed of with soaring temperatures since the start of May and no end in sight.
And with that, beer gardens, outdoor areas and anywhere with a bit of sun is filled with people having drinks and enjoying the great vibes that come with it.
Luckily Dublin is filled with pubs that take advantage of the sun, here’s a rundown of the Dublin 7 general area that may well be one of the best when it comes to a selection of outdoor areas.
Northside sunny pub crawl – Phibsboro/Smithfield and surrounds
You might struggle to find a better selection of beer gardens and sun traps than in this part of the city, here are some of the highlights, all within a 10 minute walk of one another – give or take.
The Back Page, Phibsboro – A great pub with incredible pizza, a plethora of televisions if you’re looking to watch a match, a cool draught selection, very cool vibes and a stunning beer garden that perfectly captures the sun.
It’s one of the northside’s most popular pubs so there is sure to be a crowd and a great atmosphere.

Bonobo, Smithfield – Another incredible spot for pints and pizza, this is similar in vibe in a sense to The Back Page but much less sporty, and with a massive beer garden.
Wooden benches which can be shared with others make for the perfect setting for a sunny evening, this is hugely popular so you will have to get their early or maybe wait a bit at weekends for some outdoor seating. Great choice on draught and extensive cocktail menu.

Fidelity, Smithfield – This is in the running for one of Dublin’s coolest bars with beers from Whiplash served on a rotating menu with plenty of cocktails and wine on the menu here too.
They don’t have a specific beer garden but plenty of chairs outside can make it an ideal sun trap at the right time, and given its popularity, you’d be lucky to get a seat inside anyway.
Hynes Bar, Stoneybatter – A terrific, traditional pub that has grown hugely in popularity in recent times and happens to boast one of Dublin’s very best beer gardens that is ideal for sun worshipers.
Located a bit further up Stoneybatter, this place is worth the extra walk on a sunny day with immaculate vibes and plenty of space outside the back here.
The Glimmer Man, Stoneybatter – This is home to a bit of a hidden gem when it comes to beer gardens, The Glimmer man hosts a Vietnamese food truck in its space which is highly recommended and makes for a great spot to eat and drink in a bit of sunshine.
Also a very well renowned pub with great Guinness and traditional vibes.
Delaney’s, Smithfield – A super little beer garden here with wooden benches which are spread out nicely thanks to some greenery in between which makes it feel nice and spacious.
They have TVs spread around and it’s a very relaxed and welcoming pub for anyone looking for a nice pint in the sun.
