If you’re hoping for a wine and cheeseboard kind of night, then we’ve got you covered with some of the best spots in Dublin for that exact thing.

We’ve selected a list of bars that we think offer the perfect setting alongside drink and food when heading for your night-out.

And if we’ve missed any, make sure to let us know in the comments.

Loose Cannon – Drury Street

Serving wine by the glass, Loose Cannon have a wide selection of tasty cheese located in the atmospheric George’s Arcade.

You can buy bottles of wine from the shop and they do toasties if you’re not feeling cheese. On a sunny day you can sit outside and enjoy your wine if you’re lucky enough to get a seat.

It was also included in the exclusive Conde Nast best bars in the world list in 2021 – if our word wasn’t enough!

Piglet – Temple Bar

Piglet is a cosy wine bar down a lovely quiet street on the edge of Temple Bar.

It is the perfect place to sit and have a catch up with your friends while enjoying a glass of wine and if you’re hungry they serve food the can be mix and matched and shared amongst everyone.

Nice outdoor area as well although given the buildings around it, you’re not guaranteed sun for all that long.

l’Gueuleton – Fade Street

The French restaurant and bar offers a lovely outdoor seating area perfect to enjoy the sun.

Located on Fade Street, with many pubs and restaurants around, despite primarily being known as a French restaurant, you can enjoy a bottle of wine or glass on its own too if you aren’t feeling food.

Amy Austin – Drury Street

Another fine setting to enjoy some small plates and a glass, or bottle, of wine in an atmospheric bar.

Wine is on tap and it’s dog friendly if you want to bring your canine friend along with you. Even more appealing is they are currently running a 25% off wine deal on Mondays – make sure to check their Instagram before your visit when reading this.

They will however be closed on Sundays.

A Fianco – Stoneybatter

Italian artisanal wines and seasonal food, giving you a taste of Italy in the heart of Stoneybatter.

It’s the perfect destination for a date night or catch up with friends and family – it’s also been extensively and glowingly reviewed by many of the country’s top newspapers.

Fidelity Bar – Smithfield

A new custom design space from the Big Romance & Whiplash. This place is perfect when you’ve a wine drinker and a beer drinks, serving both craft beer and wine on tap.

Located in Smithfield along the Luas line it’s the perfect location just a short trip out if you’re in the city centre.

Fidelity doesn’t take reservations, just walk ins. They also have a manifold pouring system that ensures precise pressure and temperature of the wine and beer is the best pour possible.

And it’s dog friendly.
