Cork City is full of pubs, be it traditional types, haunts for live music, quieter spots to enjoy a pint and catch-up, sports bars and every variety you can think of.

But if you’re heading to the real capital looking for a night-out, this is the list for you.

These pubs are either places to spend your whole night or spots to visit before you head to a nightclub with a usually busy crowd.

Let us know if there are any others that should make the list.

Dwyers of Cork – Washington Street

Along Washington Street and just beside nightclub Reardens, a refurbished Dwyers opened in the last 5 years and has quickly established itself as one of the best bars in Cork.

The sleek interior is the perfect place for a group to head for a night of drinking with live music and a big crowd always guaranteed.

You can watch live sport, order food, enjoy pints and cocktails and stay into the late hours Friday-Sunday in this award-winning venue.

Clancy’s – Prince’s Street

Another late bar that was renovated in recent years, since that reopening in 2019 Clancy’s has similarly become one of the most popular spots in the city.

With big screens, live music and DJs in the later hours, Clancy’s is usually packed with a young crowd on weekends.

Home to quality lunch and dinner menus, the pub also boasts a fine catalogue of cocktails and plenty of beers and stout on tap.

An Brog – Oliver Plunkett Street

An alternative late bar along Oliver Plunkett Street, An Brog is home to DJs seven nights a week playing an array of tunes.

Always busy and serving up tasty cocktails and great pints, it’s a top option when headed on a night-out.

Crane Lane Theatre

Once a gentlemen’s club, Crane Lane is now split into multiple venues within one including a country bar and one of the city’s best beer gardens.

With live music seven nights a week, it’s always a good place to visit for a good night-out.

Reardens – Washington Street

Seen as the final stop on many people’s nights out, Reardens is a pub that is also home to multiple nightclub venues.

Always guaranteed a big crowd, the Washington Street boozer is littered with tv screens, has live music every night of the week and serves up quality food throughout the day.
