Home to some of Ireland’s best pubs, Cork should be on your list if you’re planning a big night soon somewhere around Ireland.

Brimming with pubs that are full of character, the Rebel County always gets rave reviews the place to go for a stag or hen or any occasion.

We’ve picked out some of the best pubs in the city for your next visit to Cork.

El Fenix – Union Quay

Not a bad you’ll fall across if you’re down for a weekend and heading to the usual busy places, but El Fenix is a hidden gem along the river with quality craft beer and a unique atmosphere.

Serving Rising Sons beers as well as the obvious Heineken and Beamish types, it’s a great spot for a smaller group looking to have a good night but maybe not go wild.

Well worth a pint at least for the cool interior at least.

Dwyers – Washington Street

Pretty much everything you’d want from a pub, after getting a pre-Covid glow-up, Dwyers is one of the most popular nightspots in the city and is usually bustling at weekends.

They’ve food, music, a huge selection of drinks and of course it’s located on Washington Street beside Reardens so it’s full of people looking for a night-out.

It was voted Cork’s best pub in 2022 by the VFI if our nod wasn’t enough for you.

Mutton Lane Inn – St Patrick’s Street

Another pub that could be considered a bit of a hidden gem Mutton Lane Inn is a candle-lit pub down a side street.

It’s Cork’s oldest pub and has a real traditional vibe to it, perfect for a date or a few drinks with a friend rather than a massive group on a night-out.

But certainly a pub worth visiting.

Clancy’s – Princes Street

Home to a quality selection of cocktails, a busy bar and an always buzzing atmosphere, Clancy’s is one of the standout bars in the city.

Another that has been honoured by the VFI awards, it’s a modern bar that was rejuvenated in 2019 and gone from strength to strength since then.

With live music seven nights a week, you’ll never have a bad time here.

Impala – Liberty Street

Just off the busy Washington Street, Impala is a cool bar that opened in 2019 and is a top place for some cocktails or pints with a pal or two.

It has a nice sleek interior with a nice alt vibe inside, to compliment an area out the front that’s perfect for a sunny day.

The Courtyard on Sober Lane

A bar with a huge beer garden ideal for a day of drinking on a summer’s day.

The Courtyard is home to a wide selection of food, a big selection of pints on tap and a quality cocktail menu – located along the by the River Lee, it’s one of the city’s best destinations.

Woolshed Baa and Grill – The Sheares Street

We couldn’t do this list without one top sports bar and this place is a dream for a group of lads or ladies looking to watch a game or a whole day of games.

It has quality burgers and bits, a wide range of pints and big screens all over so you won’t miss a second of action.
