12 pubs season is here and people all over Ireland are gearing up for their annual pub crawl to mark Christmas time.

The tradition is not filled with all that much history and has only properly become the norm in recent years – with friends using it as an excuse to catch-up with each other and celebrate another year.

One of the big questions when planning the event – after what are the rules? Which we have here – is, where will we go?

We’ve picked out a few potential routes for you to try when attempting the 12 pubs in Dublin.

Also, make sure to drink responsibly and there’s no harm in taking a water break in every few pubs, rather than getting too drunk.

Ranelagh – Rathmines – Camden Street

This is a great route as it brings you through two quality suburbs for a few drinks and lands you right in the city centre, if you’re planning to head out afterwards again – and you’ll have gotten a good few steps in a long the way.

Of course, some of these pubs might be very full, might not want big groups or may not like the look of a drunk looking 12 pubs crew arriving at their door, so it’s just a suggestion.

But if you choose it, we hope you have a great time.
